NDIS participants and plan managers
Buying the SDR HDMI dongle with self-managed or plan-managed funds
You can order the dongle by invoice and pay by bank transfer, then forward the invoice to your plan manager. The price is the same for everyone: A$299 including GST.
Whether your plan pays for it is a decision for you, your plan manager and your clinician. We cannot say that it will.

Who we can sell to
We are not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. That decides who we can sell to.
| How your plan is managed | Can we sell to you? | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Self-managed | Yes | You pay the invoice yourself and keep it as your tax invoice. |
| Plan-managed | Yes | You forward the invoice to your plan manager, who pays it by bank transfer. |
| NDIA-managed (agency-managed) | No | The NDIA only pays registered providers for these plans, and we are not registered. We cannot take orders paid by the NDIA. Please buy from a registered provider. |
Not sure how your plan is managed? Your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIS can tell you.
What to check first
- Ask your plan manager or support coordinator whether the dongle suits your plan. We cannot decide that for you.
- Talk to your clinician. The NDIA says low-cost assistive technology should be linked to your disability and goals, and supported by evidence, for example a recommendation from your allied health professional.
- Read what the NDIA says: What is low-cost assistive technology and How to buy low-cost assistive technology.
For your clinician
A blank checklist your clinician can fill in with the headings the NDIA asks about. It has no pre-written answers, because what to write is your clinician's call.
How ordering by invoice works
- Choose Pay by invoice at checkout.Fill in the delivery details, then pick "Pay by invoice (bank transfer)". The NDIS details are optional.
- Save your order link.It opens your invoice. We do not send automatic emails, so the link is the only way back to it. You can print the invoice or save it as a PDF.
- Pay within 14 days.Pay by bank transfer, or forward the invoice to your plan manager. Use the order number as the reference. If nothing arrives in 14 days the order lapses and your details are erased.
- We ship once the money has cleared. The dongle is posted from Sydney, free within Australia. Your order link then shows the tracking number and the supply date on the invoice.
Need a quote first? Open your order link, choose Quote, and print that instead. It is valid for 14 days.
Questions people ask
Is the dongle on an NDIS list, or endorsed by the NDIS?
No. The NDIA does not endorse or approve any products, ours included. We are not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and we do not describe the dongle as anything it is not.
Will my plan pay for it?
We cannot tell you. It depends on your plan, your goals and whether your plan manager accepts it as a support. Ask them before you order, and keep your clinician's advice with your records.
What does it cost?
A$299 including GST of A$27.18, for every buyer. There is no extra charge for paying by invoice, and shipping within Australia is free.
Which support item do I put on the invoice?
We never choose one for you. If your plan manager gives you a support item, type it into the optional box at checkout and it appears on the invoice exactly as you wrote it. If you leave it blank, the invoice has no support item.
Do you need my NDIS number?
No, it is optional. We use it only to prepare your invoice, and your plan manager may ask for it. See the privacy policy for how long it is kept.
Can I get an invoice for someone else?
Yes. Type the participant's name in the optional box. The delivery name can be someone else, for example a carer.
Who gets a refund if I return it?
Whoever paid. For a plan-managed order that is your plan manager. See the terms.
I am NDIA-managed. Can I still order?
Not through the NDIA. We cannot take orders paid by the NDIA because we are not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. If you can pay yourself, the dongle page has the normal checkout.
Do I need the dongle at all?
No. The web app is free and does the same job on any screen with a browser.
